Breeze to Oakham

A chance to ride through the beautiful North East leicestershire countryside across to the county of Rutland. Starting in Birstall, we will ride through beautiful Watermead park into Syston. We will then pass through Queniborough, Twyford and up to the top of Burrough hill. We carry on to Somerby and Cold Overton before dropping down into Oakham for a well earned cup of tea and slice of cake. The return leg will take us through Knossington, Tilton on the hill, Keyham, Beeby and back into Syston. We will again cross through Watermead lakes back to the start point. This is a very hilly ride with lots of climbs but we wait at the top of every hill. We ride at the pace of the slowest rider and no-one is left behind. This ride is most suited to road bikes or fast hybrids. Please make sure you bring some money for tea stops, water and snacks for the ride, and a spare inner tube in case of a puncture. This is a better option than trying to repair a puncture at the side of the road Helmets are not compulsory but it is advisable.
