Breeze to Kenwood House and Ally Pally

This ride is a step up from the beginners rides but perfectly doable for anyone that can ride 8-10 miles without a break. We will go at a pace that means no one is ever left behind.

We’ll meet at the Redwood café in Swan Lane Open Space. Note that there are no toilets. There is free parking on most of the side streets but please check the timings.

We start from North Finchley on quiet roads until Finchley Central where we will be briefly on a main road before turning into East End Road. From there we’ll cut through Hampstead Garden Suburb also on quiet roads.

We will take our own time climbing up quiet roads near Hampstead Heath to Kenwood House. Everyone can go at their own pace and we will wait for everyone at the top. It is then a short cycle into Kenwood House’s beautiful café for a cuppa.

We then cycle down again before turning right towards Muswell Hill where we will have a couple of short ups and downs and then up to Alexandra Palace. We can take in the views on London and even have a coffee or ice cream if you fancy. From Ally Pally we will take back roads and a cycle path to New Southgate before winding back to Friary Park and back to Swan Lane.

Please wear a helmet and dress for the weather - British summer time could mean anything. Bring water, snacks and money/card for the stop. Please check your bike the evening before to ensure that it is fully functioning, inflated tyres, gears shifting nicely and brakes are working.
