Starting point

CF11 9SW

National Sports Centre of Wales, Sophia Gardens.

Starting down the Taff Trail, we will cross Pont-y-Werin in the Bay, then ride up the back streets of Cogan to Sully Lane. A scenic off road ride through Cosmeston Park past the lake will get us to our coffee and cake stop. The return route takes us along the cycle path into Penarth and down to Pont-y-wearin and the Taff Trail. There is a bit of a climb to reach Sully Lane, but once there it's flat or down hill all the way home. Everyone has to walk a hill sometimes, there are no prizes for getting up in one. Please note: the park tends to be slightly wet and stony in one short section and road bike users need to note this- a short walk or a lot of careful riding may be necessary. Pay and Display parking on site, as well as toilet/ changing facilities. Free parking further up the Taff Trail at Pontcanna Fields Changing Rooms, CF11 9HX.
