Breeze summer evening Durham Discovery Loop

Join us for this short ride which is part of our weekly summer series of Thursday evening starter rides in the Durham area during May, June and July. These rides are suitable for those new or returning to cycling to build up confidence and stamina over the weeks, while enjoying the summer evenings and good company.

This ride takes us in a clockwise loop around Durham, taking in the riverbanks, the University, Crossgate, Newton Hall and Brasside and all in 12 miles. It’s very varied in terrain and a perfect chance to join it all together and amaze yourself that you can circumnavigate Durham on an evening.

We’ll be on a mix of off-road and minor roads, mostly good surfaces so is most suitable for hybrid bikes.

In order for the ride to leave promptly, please be punctual so we can carry out bike checks, etc. prior to us setting off. Please make sure your bike is in working condition, bring a spare tube to fit your tyres and have lights in case the eve is dreary. We should be out for a couple of hours and there will be the option to stop for a cuppa/drink once back.

If you cannot make it please cancel your place using the option in let’s ride.

If there is inclement weather we may need to cancel the ride and will do so no later than 5.30pm on the day. If you have not heard from us the ride is going ahead.
