Breeze Stevenage to The Roses Cafe via Shillington

This is a slightly more challenging ride of around 35 miles to Roses Cafe in Shefford. We will meet by the cycle track next to the bike racks at Stevenage train Station at 9.20am for a briefing and bike check and will aim to leave by 9.30am.

The pace will be steady no one gets left behind. There are a few hills and we will wait at the top to enable everyone to ride at their own pace.

We will be taking the cycle route out from Stevenage and over to Todds Green, Great Wymondley, The Green Man and then round Hitchin to Walworth. We will then follow the route out to Ickleford, Holwell and Pirton before turning to Upper Gravenhurst, going out to Campton and on to Shefford.

The return route is very direct and shorter and uses some dedicated cycle tracks for our safety.

Mainly quiet roads once we have left the towns of Letchworth and Hitchin.

We will stop for refreshments at Rose's Cafe, Shefford where they provide a range of fresh cooked lunches, cakes, toasties and more.

Helmet, spare inner tube and pump to suit valve type, water, suitable clothing for weather conditions and card/cash for refreshments.
