This is a steady ride on a mostly traffic free route.  There are a couple of sections of road but these will be on quiet lanes.  On our route we’ll have chance to explore the beautiful countryside and we’ll pass points of interest including Robin Hood’s road to Nottingham, Truman’s Lodge, Apleyhead Lodge, Hardwick Village and Normanton Gate. We can stop for a toilet break at Hardwick Village and take in the stunning view of the lake and wild life as we pass over the very beautiful old bridge on our way to Normanton Gate.  We’ll stop for a well earned tea and cake at the visitors centre so please bring some money. Please be ready for all weathers we are in England after all, so appropriate clothing and a cycling helmet if you have one this is not essential but they are for hire along with other items if you wish to do so. Cycle hire is £7.20 for 2hr although there is no need to pre book, if you prefer to 01909 544900 to avoid disappointment. It’s perfect for beginners and anyone who’s not been on a bike for a while. We really welcome newcomers to our rides; we will always ride at the pace of the slowest rider so no one is left behind. It's a good idea to bring some water and you may also want to bring a snack if you think your energy levels may need topping up along the way.  Everyone’s welcome - look forward to meeting you Christine ;-)
