Starting from the Timberlake Car Park off Radlett Road in North Watford, this route is suitable for all bikes.
We will start on the Abbey Way Cycle Route and wind our way through to Watford High Street and then take quiet roads up to Cheslyn House & Gardens where we will spend some time admiring the beautiful gardens, aviary, pond and exotic trees and shrubs in their autumn colours.
You MUST bring a bike lock with you as bikes cannot be taken around the gardens, but there is a bike rack provided just inside the grounds.
There is no cafe stop on this short ride but we will aim to spend up to 40 minutes in the gardens then return to North Watford before sunset (approx 6:30pm), so please ensure your bike has adequate lights!
Other essentials are:
- One or two spare inner tubes, tyre levers and any tools you may need to remove your bike wheel in case of a puncture.
- Hand sanitiser and mask in case we need to take extra precautions due to Covid-19.
- Bring a drink and snack as we will be out for approx. 2 hours
- Please wear a helmet for your own safety.
Please arrive by 4:25pm so we can run through a riders register, bike checks and a brief on Covid social distancing measures before we set off.
