Breeze into Spring - Sportive training rides 12+ mph

Time to dust off the cycling gear and build up some mileage in readiness of the summer. We will head out from Harpenden through the villages to enjoy all that this area of Hertfordshire has to offer, stopping for refreshments before the end.

This ride is all on roads and therefore suitable for confident riders on road bikes.

If the weather is looking unfavourable I will cancel the night before, so please watch out for notifications.

We will do a bike check before leaving but will check your bike beforehand.

These rides will mostly be on quiet country lanes with occasional hills to get you prepared for the summer. Each week there will be a different route and a gradual increase in distance, up to 25 miles. Pace will be 12-13mph approx.

These rides are predominantly suitable for road bikes, but experienced riders on hybrids with skinny tyres will be fine.

The rides are non-stop, bar any brief pauses for food and drink on the way, and at the top of hills as required. We will ride and stay as a group for safety.

Helmets are mandatory, and please remember to have tools/tubes/pump in case of mechanicals. Water, snacks, money as required. Please check your bike over the night before to check tyres, brakes, etc.
