Beat the January blues with a blast out to Bishop!

Starting from the old station at Brancepeth we will pass through Sunderland Bridge and Tudhoe, then join the Auckland Walk Railway Path at Spennymoor for the last 4 miles to Bishop Auckland.

After a stop for refreshments at the Fifteas tea room, we'll return along the Brandon-Bishop Railway path.

If January brings us particularly harsh weather we might alter and shorten the route slightly, but we will endeavour to get out no matter what the weather (safety permitting, of course).

This ride is a mixture of railway paths, bridleways and a small amount of road, so apart from skinny road bikes it will be suitable for all other bikes. It is likely to be muddy and wet in places.

Please come suitably dressed for the weather and make sure you’ve got a spare tube to fit your tyres.

Expect to return to Brancepeth by 3pm.

If you want any more information you can send a message via this page, email [email protected] or leave a message on our Breeze Network Durham Facebook page.

If you book on and need to cancel last minute (only) please text 07886 813 007.

Look forward to seeing you on the ride,
Sarah
