Breeze Gibside Farmer's Market

This will be a leisurely, social ride - perfect for beginners or if you've not been on you bike for a while. Allow plenty of time for chatting over coffee and cake and looking round the Farmer's Market After meeting in the car park at Swalwell Visitor's Centre we'll go up (very gently uphill) the Derwent walk towards Rowlands Gill. Depending on the weather and how we are all feeling, we can go a little further to the viaduct near Hamsterley Mill. We will call in at the National Trust tea shop at Gibside (free entry and free tea or coffee with your snack for cyclists - so bring some money for scone/cake). We'll have some time to browse the Farmer's Market and then it's downhill all the way back to Swalwell. This will be a very gentle ride of 8 - 10 miles with plenty of stops to enjoy the lovely views. It is all on shared user cycle track, so it's the perfect ride if you are not very confident riding on the road. It can be a little muddy if the weather has been wet. Make sure hands and feet will be warm. Newcomers to Breeze rides are especially welcome.
