PL31 2RD

Free Camel Trail Car Park adjacent to the Borough Arms pub at Dunmere, just outside Bodmin on the A389 road to Wadebridge.

This ride is for ladies who enjoy (endure!) going uphill. It's a good challenge which might test you. We warm up with three miles along the flat Camel Trail, alongside the river. At Hellandbridge we turn right and climb up for about a mile, through the hamlet of Helland and then a long descent down Shell Hill. We rejoin the trail for a short time before we go up again, this time on the NCN 3 route up to Blisland then up again onto the exposed Bodmin Moor with (weather permitting) some wonderful views. We ride along moorland lanes to St Breward where we drop down to the river again then a short sharp climb towards Hengar Manor brings us down to Wenfordbridge and a well earned rest at the Snails Pace Cafe. We can return either along the Camel Trail (flat) or the adjacent side roads (inclines) to the Borough Arms. The trail surface is rough and has jagged stones so suitable tyres only please. Please wear a helmet and bring a spare inner tube to fit your bike plus some money for your refreshments.
