A non-technical, off-road, social ride using lanes and forest tracks from Thornton le Dale into Dalby Forest. Suitable for all keen to get back on their bikes after the festive break and for those who have NEW mountain bikes and want to try them out. There is a steady climb into the forest, with plenty of opportunities for stopping to admire the views, followed by a nice descent to Low Dalby for refreshments before returning via a bridleway beside Ellerburn Beck. This route can be very muddy and may be slippery, not suitable for hybrid bikes with road tyres. Please make sure you have a spare tyre, pump suitable for your bike and money for refreshments. I I HAVE POSTED THIS AS A CLOSED RIDE - PLEASE FEEL FREE TO INVITE OTHERS TO JOIN US. I know some of you may be working but I did not want to assume you were in case you had a day off.
