This Breeze bike ride is for mountain bikers who are happy on a blue trail, and have perhaps done 'some' red routes. It is being run by a British Cycling Level 2 MTB Leader and Coach, who also holds a valid 2 day outdoor first aid certificate. If you're not sure which session to book on, please get in touch, or you can chat to us on the day. For more information on all the Festiva activities you can book on check out the event: https://www.facebook.com/events/1123153352116966 **If you have any medical conditions, allergies, need to take medication etc can you drop me a message beforehand.** email: [email protected]
This is a 99% off road ride, we have to cross a couple of very quiet back lanes within the forest.
We will stop before each section of trail and regroup at the end - therefore no one will be left behind. This is not a race, it is not about speed, it is a sociable red graded MTB ride - with plenty of support along the way. (And don't forget its also a lot of fun!) Please note, e-bikes are welcome, however, I don't ride an e-bike, so the up hills will be at a steady pace.
- A bike in good working order & suitable for riding off road. You'll need a MTB Hard tail or full Sus for this ride. - A helmet is compulsory for this ride - Full fingered gloves are essential. They usually have a good selection for sale in the shop at CyB if you don't have any - Suitable footwear eg. trainers (no open toed shoes/ sandals) - You may want to consider some eye protection - sunglasses would be fine - Suitable clothes. Something that you will feel comfortable in - but no baggy trousers or clothes that could get caught or snagged. Eg. tracksuit bottoms would work well, layers are good. Consider the weather (a waterproof coat is a good idea). -A small rucksack is useful (carry spare layer, waterproofs, water, meds, food, any tools) - A drink and any snacks for the ride (you'll find the miles more strenuous than the same road miles - so its worth having something to eat before the ride to keep you going) - Any necessary medication (Epi pens, asthma inhalers etc) - Money for the cafe - A spare inner tube suitable for your tyres - Any tools or other things that you would normally carry on a ride I will have a first aid kit and group shelter. If you've got any questions or wonder whether this is the ride for you - please do get in touch ([email protected]) British Cycling Letsride booking Ts&Cs . https://www.letsride.co.uk/terms
We welcome first timers to Coed Y Brenin, I love showing people the forest - one of my favourite places. But please note this it not a ride for first timers to Mountain Biking.
