Hartford Train Station Chester Road Hartford Cheshire CW8 1QX

This ride is part of national Bike Week when people all over the country will be making a special effort to get on a bike and go somewhere exciting! This is a fairly flattish meander around the Cheshire countryside through Tarporley and heading to the cyclist-friendly Ice Cream Farm at Tattenhall. Along the way, you will see castles and cottages, some of them thatched. We see the magnificent Peckforton and Beeston Castles guarding a strategic valley in the past, but now busy preparing for Summer weddings! The route is not difficult except for a narrow and steep bridge over the canal at the Shady Oak. Some traffic and parked cars at Tarporley, but it is mainly quiet elsewhere.
