Free, women-only bike rides led by experienced Breeze Champions. They are a great way to get started in cycling or to improve your skills, whether you are a beginner or a seasoned cyclist.

Car park just off Stirling Lane, Rowlands Gill, next to Derwent Walk

We'll meet in the car park next to the Derwent Walk (Stirling Lane, Rowlands Gill). The ride will take us up the Derwent Walk towards Ebchester. Then we'll return the way we came (down hill all the way) back to Rowlands Gill and then up to Gibside for a cuppa (free entry). When you arrive by bike you can get a free cup of tea/coffee if you buy a cake or scone. Allow time for a chat in the cafe at the end of the ride. This is a gentle ride of about 10 miles, almost entirely on multi-user cycle path: lovely views and away from traffic. There are a few steep little hills along the way but we can always walk. The track can be a bit muddy if the weather has been wet. It's sensible to bring a drink, snack, bike lock, and spare inner tube - a sense of humour is essential.
