Breeze Derby - Ride Through Winter / Breeze for Trees #9 - The Piptree

The fifth 'Ride Through Winter' or Breeze for Trees as I prefer (complete 4 Breeze Rides during January and February and British Cycling will plant a tree plus, there are prize draws with all riders in with a chance to win a rather nice set of front lights). The exact route will be decided on the day being dependant on the weather conditions on the day. We will pedal out west towards Elvaston Country Park, possibly going 'Up the Amazon' and through Kegworth, Sawly, Breaston and Draycott and Borrowash before returning to Alvaston Park.

We will encounter the usual mixture of busier roads, country lanes and traffic free cycle paths.

Our refreshment point will be at The Piptree Cafe in Borrowash towards the end of the ride.

Helmets are advised - I will be wearing one. The Covid Bit - This ride will adhere to the current social distancing requirements at all times, from car park to cafe and including stopping at junctions. Please bring everything with you that you might need on the ride eg spares, tools, extra clothing, snacks and drink, sharing is not encouraged. There is no need to wear a mask on the ride but one will be required for the cafe stop or for a mechanical so it's probably best to have one handy. Please do not ride if you feel unwell, have Covid symptoms or have been advised to self-isolate. If you test positive after the ride, please let the ride leader know.
