Starting point

EX34 9EQ

The Quay, Ilfracombe,

This is a superb cycle ride and an ideal opportunity to promote Breeze right across Devon on one of the finest long distance routes of the National Cycle Network.  The total distance of 99 miles, and will use National Cycle Network Route 27 that includes three traffic-free cycle trails.  There are some fairly hard and hilly ‘on road’ sections coming out of Ilfracombe, between Petrockstowe and Okehampton and Lydford to Tavistock.   Day 1, Saturday leaving Ilfracombe at 9am to Braunton then joining the 28 mile traffic-free section of the Tarka Trail to Petrockstowe, back on route 27 to the finish of day 1 in Hatherleigh, this section is approx. 48 miles.   Day 2, Sunday,  4th May  - we will start from Hatherleigh head along the quiet lanes to Okehampton on the northern edge of Dartmoor to join the Granite Way.  The route takes riders over the Meldon Viaduct with spectacular views, we will head south to Tavistock then join the Drake’s Trail.  One of the highlights of this route is Gem Bridge, the longest bridge on the National Cycle Network, which guides riders over the dramatic Walkham Valley between Tavistock and Horrabridge.  The route then winds down to Plymouth.  Approx. 51 miles. B & B accommodation is available for the Saturday night, For more information about this ride please contact Louise Jackson [email protected]
