Breeze By-The-Burn

Wobbly? Terrified of hills? Confused by gears? Then dust off your bike and join us for a leisurely, social ride along the banks of the Tyne. This route is all on multi-user cycle path, so there is no traffic and its very flat - ideal for beginners. We'll stop at the half-way point at my new favourite cafe, By The Burn at Newburn for coffee/tea/goodies (bring some money if you'd like refreshments). If the weather is good and depending on how we are all feeling, there are options to ride a little further... Then we'll retrace our route back to Wylam. If you've not used your bike for a while it's worth getting it checked out at a local bike shop before the ride. You'll be more confident if you know it's in good working order. Helmets are not compulsory but are recommended. Layers are a good way of keeping warm if the weather is chilly or changeable. A bike lock and a spare inner tube are a good idea.
