War Memorial at the top of Pinner High Street

This is Day 46 of the Billie Fleming Tribute Year 2015. Billie set a world cycling record in 1938 and died in 2014 aged 100. Rain or shine, she went out every day and averaged 81 miles per day. On February 15th 1938 she recorded 'Local Calls' of 13 miles, so this is a Big Bike Ride day across the UK. For more on Billie see Facebook 'Billie Fleming Tribute Ride 2015' and http://www.tributetobillie.co.uk/ We meet at the War Memorial in Pinner High Street and cycle to Hatch End station for the train to Bushey. Bring your Oyster card! We follow the Colne Valley Cycle Path into Watford, then take quiet roads to meet the canal at Grove Mill. From there it's an easy ride to Cassiobury Park where we stop for coffee at the Cha Cha Cha. NB the towpath could be muddy, so if it has been raining, road bikes are probably not suitable. After coffee it's south to the Ebury Way, towards Rickmansworth and then through the Moor Park estate to Moor Park station for the return on the Metropolitan Line to Pinner. Please check your bike over the day before, pump up the tyres and ensure your brakes work and the wheels turn freely. Helmets are not compulsory but please bring water, money and a bike lock.
