Outside Rayners Lane Station

This ride commemorates the Billie Fleming Tribute Year 2015 - see http://www.tributetobillie.co.uk. In 2015 women rode over 25,000 miles to pay tribute to world record holder Billie Fleming, who rode 29,604 miles in 1938. This year Kajsa Tylen has broken her record with an awesome 50,000 km already reached! http://www.ayearinthesaddle.com As has now become tradition, we are meeting in Regent's Park, this time on New Year's Day for lunch. Breeze riders are coming to the Park from all over London and beyond. We begin at Rayners Lane Station and soon join the canal to cycle into London. Most of the ride is off-road, but you also need to be confident on roads. We will keep up a reasonable speed (around 10mph) so this is not a ride for beginners. We aim to be in the park by 12.30 and you can do some circuits round the Outer Circle if you like. We will have lunch in the Garden Cafe and then you can either take the train home from Baker Street or cycle back. 14 miles is one way and 28 miles is both ways. Don't forget to bring lights, as you will almost certainly need them on the way back. Before the ride please pump up your tyres, ensure your brakes work and the wheels turn freely. Bring money, your Oyster card and water and wrap up warm.
