Please come and join me on my favourite new Breeze route! This 12 mile route has some of the most amazing views of the river, Teignmouth and Shaldon you can possibly imagine so well worth the few climbs along the way! We start in Newton Abbot and head along the cycle path to Kingsteignton. From here we will cross the A380 and start our first climb to the top of Bishopsteignton and the first of the views of the river. A bit respite as we make our way towards Teignmouth but one more climb to be conquered to earn our tea and cake! Again some fantastic views as we drop down to the river and across the bridge to Shaldon. The Clipper Café are expecting us and I’ve even put an order in for extra flapjack to be made for this!! It really is amazing stuff! I test everything from the route to the food!!! As we leave Shaldon we wind though the narrow streets and pretty cottages on our way to the picturesque village of Combeinteignhead. Nothing too testing here but once through the village we will encounter a couple more climbs as we ‘skirt’ around Netherton, before emerging from the lanes into the Buckland estate. Here we cross the A380 on the blue/yellow bridge taking us right back to the start – perfick! Not one for beginners I’m afraid but if you can cope with a climb or four, please do come along! If you have done my Stoneycombe or Marldon rides you will manage this just fine! The pace will be steady and no-one will be left behind. Any bike with gears recommended. Wearing a helmet is advisable but if you do not have one don’t worry, you can still take part. It is a good idea to bring a drink/snack, appropriate layers of clothing (check out weather on the day!) and we will stop at the café so some pennies for refreshments if you wish. For more information on other rides taking place in the Teignbridge/Torbay/Exeter areas please see our facebook page Breeze Network Devon & Cornwall. Myself and Charlotte look forward to seeing you there! Elaine http://www.mapometer.com/cycling/route_3714695.html
