Starting point

Starting from Loch Leven Community Campus car park, we travel South out of Kinross eventually turning left along the quiet and scenic Benarty Hill road. Following an enjoyable descent into Ballingry, we turn towards Kirkness then turn left towards Scotlandwell and Kinnesswood. Following the road, we can either pass Balgeddie Toll straight back to the campus or there is an option to extend the ride via the quiet Mawcarse road if all riders wish to do so.

Route rating

A lovely flat(ish) circular route around Loch Leven via Benarty with views of Scotland's largest lowland loch, the Cleish, Lomond and Ochil hills, and even over Fife to the River Forth and beyond. Roads should be quiet at this time of the evening. The route is entirely tarmac.

A few undulating sections of road but mainly flat, tarmac and should be quiet at this time of the evening. The route is entirely tarmac.

We will stop for riders to have drinks and a snack as needed.

Helmets advisable, please have a roadworthy bike, with tyres pumped up and a spare inner tube in case of a puncture. Sunglasses or eye protection are recommended during the summer. Bring a drink and snack for yourself, and an extra layer in case the temperature drops or the rain comes.

We never leave anyone behind
