(0) ReviewsWe are cycling in celebration of the Cycling World Championships. The Fondo and Medio Fondo events are being held in Perth on the 4th of August and this participative ride will begin close to the action of the race start point in Perth City where we will hopefully be able to see some of the racers setting off. This ride is led by a trained Breeze Champion. Breeze is the Scottish and British Cycling programme supporting more women to enjoy recreational and participative cycling in a welcoming, supportive and inclusive environment. This route will take us on scenic traffic free paths and quiet roads along the banks of the Rivers Tay and Almond.
The route is on a mixture of tarmac paths and quiet country roads. There are a few gravelly sections where the tarmac surface has deteriorated in places, but it is generally a good surface.
We will stop for coffee/cake/refreshments at the Tickled Trout Cafe, College Mill, in Almondbank. Additionally, we will stop as needed for participants to have their own drinks/snacks along the way.
Helmets are recommended. Eye protection is advisable at this time of year. Riders should arrive with a well maintained bike, with tyres pumped up, and have a spare inner tube to fit their wheels as well as any tools that are specific to their bike. A waterproof jacket is helpful if there are showers of rain forecast. Bright coloured clothing is helpful to increase visibility of the group. Riders should bring money for the cafe stop to purchase drinks and snacks.
We never leave anyone behind
