Marina car park

Reedley Marina to Pendle Heritage Centre. If you are new to cycling this is a good first ride. Gentle pace along the canal to Pendle Heritage Centre for coffee and cake. A steady route along the tow path of the Leeds Liverpool Canal and through local parks. The tow path is mainly tarmac throughout and a suitable surface for any wheel. Although the tow path is a bit bumpy in Nelson. The Steven Burke Cycle hub at the halfway point provides an ideal spot for a breather. The ride starts in the open country side of Reedley on the outskirts of Burnley and meanders its way through Brierfield and Nelson. As you cycle through you'll notice the old mill buildings and terraced houses which could tell a tale or two of the areas cotton heritage. as you reach the halfway point you leave the canal and cycle down to Barrowford and Pendle Heritage Centre with its 18th century walled garden. You can stop here for a coffee or lunch. From the Heritage Centre you retrace the route back to the canal and back to Reedleys open countryside. Helmets are compulsory. Please bring money and water.
