Free, women-only bike rides led by experienced Breeze Champions. They are a great way to get started in cycling or to improve your skills, whether you are a beginner or a seasoned cyclist.

THE CHALLENGE.....
This first ride will be our marker for the series. The ride will be timed and recorded and then next week we will add 2 miles to the distance and aim to achieve this in Week 1's time and so it will go on.

THE EXPECTATION....
That you will be out of breath, it might hurt a little, you will be a little red in the face and you will glow (after all we are all ladies ;-) You will ride your hardest for the full duration of the ride and it will become a mind over matter exercise. It will be very much a group exercise with us all looking out for each other. That chain gang I had you all in last summer, it needs to be stronger and better than it has ever been. Oh, did I mention your legs might hurt the day after.

The route is flat and brings with it other challenges that hills don't give you; you have to pedal the whole time and pedal hard, there is no free wheeling, drinking on the move will become a thing, getting out of junctions will matter - be pedal ready!

My aim for us is to be able to do at least 30 miles on an evening ride in a couple of hours. If you're looking at your first 100 this season you should be aiming for 35 mile blocks without stopping; that gives you a stop at 35 and 70 miles on that long ride.

I need you to bring a spare tube to fit your bike and a pump, first aid kit, drink and a snack or sweets. No helmet - no ride.

Also, your game face! YOU MUST EAT BEFORE THIS RIDE - I DON'T CARE ABOUT YOUR WEIGHT I CARE ABOUT YOUR ENERGY LEVELS.

Despite all this it will be great fun and the sense of achievement will be immense. Please only join this ride if you can commit to the 6 rides and can ride 20 miles already without a stop.
