Proposed route: Ellerker, Norfolk Bank Lane, Broomfleet, track to Faxfleet then right up to Scalby. If there's time, we'll go left past the strawberries/pumpkins, through Gilberdyke and then along the back road to Newport.
Thegravel track is dry and not too rough but there are lots of big pot-holes so it will be a case of singling out, going carefully and choosing the best line through them. If you've a choice of bike, it would be best to bring the one best-suited to riding over gravel. If you are on a road bike, you will need to take extra care.
It'd be good if you can check your bike before coming and bring:
- comfy clothes (layers are good for flexibility) including gloves and a waterproof if rain looks possible
- your helmet
- pump, inner tube and crossed fingers that they won't be needed!
- drink and snack (it's a good idea to refuel if the refreshment stop is near the end of the ride)
- money for refreshments
-bike lock if you have one
- lights are good, particularly in dull weather
Don't hesitate to get in touch if you've any queries.
