The start will be from the Station Road Car park in Bovey Tracey. We will be found loitering in front of the tourist information centre, on the right as you enter the car park. Heading to Lustleigh via the Old Railway Track through Parke Wood, then onto Lower Knowle Road for most of the remaining trip.

A fairly short and relaxed ride from Bovey Tracey to Lustleigh for a Picnic lunch. (Picnic not provided!) Be warned, there are a couple of hills en route once we leave the old railway, please dismount and push if you feel the need! The route encompasses both a gravel cycle track and some quiet country lanes. There is a crossing of a moderately busy road at the start/end of the route, please cross safely on foot. Deborah and myself will be on hand if you would like help through the gates or across the road. We are aiming to spend an hour or so at our destination on the green in Lustleigh, (where there is a great children's play park if the ride wasn't enough for our younger cyclists). The ride back is somewhat easier as well, should lunch or a hard time on the swing be causing discomfort! There is a little shop in Lustleigh, but opening on the Sunday is unconfirmed. The ride is generally suitable for any bike, though it might not be very comfortable on the old railway section if you are on very skinny tyres! No bike hire is available in Bovey, but this link will provide the easiest options. http://www.yell.com/s/cycle+hire-bovey+tracey.html Haldon Forest park being the closest/easiest.
