Westbourne to Swanage

Starting in the middle of Westbourne you will have a steady start ready for the first small climb of the day after 2 miles. You will then find your way down to Poole harbour with the lovely Brownsea Island in front of you. Heading round the bay, you will wait to board the chain ferry (£2 needed for return fare). After alighting the ferry, the route will then take you past some beautiful Purbeck scenery as you head for Studland village. Get ready for the climb out of the village which rises nearly 300 feet. However after all that effort you will be able to virtually freewheel all the way to the beachfront at popular tourist resort of Swanage. After some refreshments and possibly a quick look round you will head back on the return route.
