Hengistbury Head
The route is largely a figure of eight tour of the south west New Forest countryside. The route passes through historic Christchurch, through WW2 aerodrome at Holmsley where cattle and ponies of all shapes and sizes roam free.
Dropping into the popular village of Burley for the first time ride out past the cricket field and golf course. There's the option short stop at the Holmsley station tearooms before progressing on across the plain to Brockenhurst. Skirting round the western margins of the town head towards Rhinefield House, riding through its beautiful tree lined Ornamental Drive.
Arriving once again back in Burley why not stop for a well earned cup of tea or coffee and a good choice of mid ride food at the Farmhouse tearooms. Having refueled, the route takes you onwards through the sleepy villages of Crow, North Ripley, Ripley and Sopley. Finally return into Christchurch and the Hengistbury Head Hungry Hiker Café to finish.
