Bolton - Eat, Drink, Ride - 21 Miler

This post is to let you know that this ride is an official SkyRide led by Graham. This is an opportunity for some of the Friendly Cyclists to come on a nice evening ride & is a great opportunity for us to show Graham some support. You HAVE to book on the official link as we are only allowed to take 8 participants per Ride Leader. If a lot of you book, SkyRide will allocate extra leaders. Sky Ride Local in Bolton If you’re fairly confident on your bike and ready to broaden your cycling horizons, our Steady rides are ideal. At a comfortable pace, and possibly with some modest hills along the way, rides take place on mainly quiet roads with plenty of sights along the way. Rides are between 6 and 20 miles long, at a moderate pace of between 7 and 10 miles an hour. Join us on this scenic route following the River Croal as it joins the River Irwell on its journey into Manchester. Passing through no less than five different country parks, which pay tribute to industrial reclamation on a grand scale, you'll gain a wealth of local knowledge along the way. First stop is Moses Gate Country Park to see the local residents; swans, geese and heron. Continuing along the Irwell you'll have a spin around Clifton Country Park. Look out for the wild deer before you descend into Prestwich Forest Park. The trail can get muddy in places so wider tyres are the better choice. Additional Information Helmets must be worn by all under 18's regardless of ride level. Please bring equipment with you to repair punctures, Ride Leaders are there to help but are not responsible for your bike. All rides leave at the time stated you must arrive early Ride Leaders will not wait.
