From Menston we drop down to the town before a short section on the main ilkley road. At the narrow bridge we cross to the quieter side of the river and towards the lido. From there if anyone knows its the first part of the fat lad sportive to Bolton Abbey. Retracing our route back as far as the narrow bridge but from there we stay on that side of the river to Otley. Then through the town and a final climb up the hill towards the start/ finish.

The beginning and end are in a more built up area and so there will be some traffic. Although the area has 2 large cycling clubs so they are used to bikes. The rest of the route is quieter country lanes with plenty of photo opportunities.

Helmets are mandatory on random wheelers rides. Please bring money for cafe and clothing for the conditions of the day.
