Jane and myself (Christine) would like to invite you to join us on a 30 mile loop road ride to Bolam Lake. This route will take us from the Wheatsheaf Pub in Woolsington through Ponteland, (this short section is 2 miles but can be busy at times so we are giving the warning now for any nervous riders). We will then head of towards Kirkley (where the roads become a lot quieter), Ogle, Whalton and Bolam before getting to Bolam Lake where we will stop at the Cafe for a drink and food for those who fancy something to eat. The return trip will take us through Black Heddon, Heugh, Dissington, Medburn and Black Callerton before returning to the start point. The route does have a few hills on it but we will regroup at the top of each, as soon as it is safe to do so should we need to. We will set the pace to the slowest rider at all other times to keep the group together. Please Note! This route is suitable for road bikes or hybrids. The cafe unfortunately DOESN'T except card payment so please ensure you have enough cash with you. You will need to bring a drink, a full puncture repair kit and pump with you aswell as a lock if you wish to secure your bike whilst we stop at the cafe. Please check the weather forecast for the day and dress appropriately for the weather due.
