Birkby to the Meeting Point Cafe...for a brew

BIG NOTE: This ride is classed as challenging due to the mileage. It is a flat ride, mostly on greenways with just a couple of undulations. We go at a nice, steady pace with plenty of stops along the way. The great thing about going for a Breeze bike ride is a chat over a coffee and a slice of cake, having enjoyed a bit of exercise on our bikes. Please join me for a meander along the greenway from Birkby to the Meeting Point Cafe. This cafe is on the Spen Valley Greenway and famous for being hard to find, but it's just on the side of the greenway so I don't know how I didn't spot it before. We will start on the greenway at Birkby, cross over Leeds Road at Bradley and continue on to Mirfield enjoying the traffic free cycling that the greenway has to offer. Once at Mirfield, we'll do a bit on the road to get to the entrance of the Spen Valley greenway, then it's traffic-free all the way to the Meeting Point Cafe. After coffee, cake and a bit of a natter, we'll then decide if we go the quick way back, which on the A62 back to Huddersfield (on road but very good cycle lanes) or we retrace our steps on the greenways, a bit on road at Mirfield, then greenways all the way back to Birkby. Don't worry if you're not Mrs Bradley Wiggins, we go at a nice easy pace and never leave anyone behind. Please bring a few layers, waterproofs, suncream as you never know what the weather will do. Please also bring some water with you as the ride will be over an hour each way. I will bring a couple of bike locks but if you have your own, then the more the merrier.
