Billie Fleming Tribute Ride - Guiseley to Golden Acre

Today is our area's turn to pay tribute to Billie Fleming. According to the Tribute to Billie group, Billie cycled to a bike dealer in Guiseley on Otley Road on 20th July1938, the year in which she cycled every day totalling over 29,000 miles. The dealer is no longer there, but our ride will start at 9.00am at the White Cross pub in Guiseley which is both on Otley Road and would have been there when Billie was cycling to Guiseley. There will be other, longer rides leaving from the same start place, so look out for your Breeze ride leaders! We will make the steady climb up towards Bramhope, stopping to re group if needed.We then cycle through Bramhope towards Golden Acre Park. This will involve a stretch of cycling on main roads, so please take that into consideration. At Golden Acre we can have coffee and cake at the lovely cafe there, before returning to Guiseley on a mostly downhill route. Ann 07841483610 [email protected]
