Inside the Evans store, you can take your bike inside.

This is a short section of the ride Billie did on this day. Evans are hosting the start which fits in with their 1940s takeover. You are welcome to dress vintage and the older the bike the better!! We will meander on quiet roads near the Thames and then cross the Iconic Tower Bridge, snake around the back of Brick Lane, stop for coffee in Peloton and Co around 12. We will then continue past Columbia Road to London Fields where we will use the canal and back streets to make our way to St Pancreas. Very gentle pace as the canal gets crowded. Billie Fleming, has a unique place in the history of cycling. In 1938, she cycled every day and set the women's world record for the greatest distance cycled in a single year. A year's mileage record is an awesome achievement. To cycle every day for a year, often alone, in all weathers, takes great strength of character as well as health and fitness. Organising female riders to cycle the distance Billie cycled every day for a year, will be a fitting tribute to this trail blazer of women's cycling. Billie's primary aim was to get women cycling: the tribute ride aims to deliver Billie's legacy by encouraging women to join in for a stage of the years' ride near them. It will also demonstrate that women of all ages love cycling, that we're up for a challenge, and we're self sufficient, hardy souls. Over seventy years after Billie Fleming completed her near 30,000 mile ride to raise awareness for the health benefits of women's cycling, a tribute ride is being organised to continue her goal. The Billie Fleming Tribute Ride started on January 1st, 2015, with stage one being a ride from Westminster to Aylesbury, and then on to Mill Hill. Every day for the entirety of 2015 there will be a stage, to be ridden by groups of local female cyclists.
