Normally London traffic is fairly quiet this time of year. Please remember to bring lights as light can fade rapidly and also spare inner tubes etc. just in case.

Join us on the first day of the New Year for a Let's Ride Through Winter Ride for rewards

On the 1st January 2015 a group of female cyclist gathered together in a café in Regents Park for many it was the first time they had met. This was the start of a year’s Tribute in honour of an amazing woman who in 1938 set an unbroken record of 29,603.4 miles who wanted to show women the benefits of cycling for health and fitness.

Inspired by Billie’s achievement after reading an interview with her in Cycling Weekly on her 100th Birthday in 2014 Breeze Champion Anne Hunt hatched an ambitious plan to get either a single or group of female riders out every day trying as closely as possible to cover the routes and areas covered 77 years ago and dedicate the miles covered to the Tribute.

It was quite a year with long and short rides all over the Country and some riders getting back on the saddle after many years absence others going way outside of their comfort zones in more ways than one. It was never intended to be a challenge to the record but to inspire and give confidence to female cyclists of all abilities and above all enjoy and have fun.

In 2016 we handed over the Baton to Kajsa Tylen in her much more serious attempt to break Billies outstanding record and wishing her much luck in doing so. Kajsa did indeed beat Billies record.

Some of us have decided to continue start a tradition of an annual meet up in celebration of Billies life and long standing record. So why not come and join us in this New Years Day in a few laps of Regents Park
