Starting point

Shropshire
WV7 3JB

A 24-mile eight shaped ride along country lanes in Shropshire and South Staffordshire to the Railway Café in the outskirts of Wombourne. The ride will start from the Car park in Albrighton (WV7 3JA) tucked in between the Crown and the Co-Op. The stay is free of charge. We will set off from Albrighton and follow country lanes to Pattingham (via Patshull and Burnhill Green). We will cycle through Nurton, admire mansions in Perton and follow Jenny Walker Lane before joining A454 (we will only cycle around a mile on Jenny Walker Lane and the A454 as they can get relatively busy). We will cross Trestcott Ford (perfect for a quick “swim”) and join South Staffordshire Railway Walk for a glorious 1,5-mile traffic free stretch before stopping for refreshments at the Railway Café (offering savoury and sweet foods as well as hot and cold drinks). On the return we will go past Bratch Locks, via Trysull, Seisdon, up the hill (a chance to burn off some of the cake) through Pattingham and head towards Albrighton via Kingswood.
We will aim for avg speed around 11mph.
Please make sure your bike is in a roadworthy condition and you are wearing comfortable clothing. Please bring a helmet, spare inner tube, drinks, and snacks (if required) and money for café stop. Slapping some sun lotion might also be a good idea.
A GPX/TCX etc file formats can be downloaded from https://ridewithgps.com/routes/33608210. It’s not necessary as we will stick together, and no-one will be left behind.
