Please visit http://www.lambeth.gov.uk/Services/TransportStreets/WalkingCycling/BikeTheBorough.htm for full details and ROUTE MAP Bike the Borough is the highlight of Lambeth’s cycling events calendar and every year attracts large numbers of people keen to enjoy the borough on two wheels - this year’s event will take place on 22 June from 10am until 4pm. The event is a great day out – it’s free, fun and ideal for anyone who wants to get out and about and take in the sights of Lambeth. There will be a range of activities on the day to encourage people from eight to 80 to get in the saddle. Bike the Borough will help us to mark National Bike Week and support our ambition to make Lambeth one of the best places to cycle in London. How it works: Pick up a passport at one of the four hubs - Archbishop's Park, Clapham Common, Streatham Common or Brockwell Park and cycle as much of the 18.5 mile dedicated route as you like, collecting stamps at each of the hubs. Collect two or more stamps in your passport and you'll be entered into a draw to win a bike. The route will be sign-posted and marshals will be on hand to help keep you on track. You can also join rides lead by a member of the Bike the Borough team – these will leave each hub on the hour between 11am and 2pm. If the whole thing sounds a bit tiring, then there are two shortcuts you can take. Each hub has something fun to do whilst you give your legs a rest – from massages and face painting to yoga for cyclists. At Clapham Common there'll also be live music to enjoy throughout the day. For the smaller cyclist, there'll be a 'Little Legs' children's ride leaving Brockwell Park at 11am - get them there early for face painting before heading off.
