Curbar Primary School Calver Bridge Calver Hope Valley

This ride is part of The Big Breeze Bike Ride weekend and is aimed at confident cyclists looking to challenge themselves a bit more. The ride is 18 miles long but has one major hill from Beeley (I'm very slow up this one, I just select bottom gear and make my way up slowly) and gains a total of 290m so it is a challenging ride. You need to be happy riding on roads, be prepared for some hills and also be confident on a steep descent (coming down from Curbar Gap). There is free on road parking at the start point. There isn't a cafe stop mid ride however bring a drink and snack as we will most likely stop to rest, refresh and regroup at the top of Beeley!! We will however reward ourselves with a cafe stop just before the end of the ride at Calver crossroads. The ride begins in Calver, passes through Baslow before heading through the Chatsworth estate. We then climb out of Beeley onto the tops, head over to Clodhall crossroads, up to Curbar Gap, down to Froggatt and back along to Calver crossroads. This ride is best suited to road bikes however this is not compulsory. Please dress appropriately for the weather and you’ll need to bring a drink, snack to keep you going, spare inner tube and puncture repair kit. If you have any questions for more information on all of our rides please see our Facebook page Breeze network Derbyshire Look forward to seeing you there!
