The Free Car Park, just off the main A493, Penmaenpool

Come and show your support to stop the closure of Barmouth bridge to walkers and cyclists. There is a big walk and cycle, organised by the Barmouth Action Group, hoping to raise the profile of this important Tourist Attraction. Walkers and Cyclists will start out from Barmouth and head across the bridge - our BIG Breeze ride will meet the other cyclists at The George III at Penmaenpool and then head back behind them, to the bridge. It is anticipated that there will be a big walking group, consisting of children and scooters etc, also meeting at Morfa Mawddach Station at 13.30, so it is going to be very busy! Once the main meet has happened, our Breeze ride will head across the bridge, into Barmouth and have an ice cream (yes it is going to be warm and sunny on this day!!!) Our Big Breeze ride will start at the free car park at Penmaenpool, next to the George III pub (off A493). Please note the post code listed above is for the George, but please try to park in the free car park. This ride is aimed at ladies and girls who are capable of riding 18+ miles. We will head out along the Mawddach Estuary Trail. If there are any males wanting to join the day, then they would be welcome to ride with the other cyclists. Hopefully the weather will be fine but please bring a waterproof jacket and plenty of layers, just in case! I would suggest all riders carry a drink too and a small snax. Wearing a helmet is advisable; if you don't have one please don't worry you can still join us. If you enjoy the ride and want to come again, perhaps you could look to buy one then. Mountain bikes or hybrids are best suited to this trail but road bikes are also a good choice too. The ride will take approx. 180 mins, so we should be back at the car park for around 3.30 - 4.00 Please feel free to email me at [email protected] if you want to discuss any details or want to know more. Please visit the Barmouth Bridge Action Group to see more details on the day www.b-vag.org.uk
