Big Breeze Bike Ride - Winscombe, Strawberry Line, Puxton & Wick

BIG BREEZE BIKE RIDE WEEKEND We will meet in the free car park behind The Woodborough Inn, in the heart of Winscombe village.  The pub has toilet facilities should you need them and we plan to end the ride with a drink/lunch in the pub afterwards.  

We’re Madi, Anna and Emma – we’re friendly and local Breeze champions, and we're here to help more of us North Somerset women to get into bike riding.

This ride from Winscombe is fairly flat, approx. 16.5 mile ride that follows a pretty, rural route down the Strawberry Line to Sandford, on the road to Puxton and Wick St Lawrence.  The Strawberry Line is a disused railway path consisting of a compact gravel surface. Route map: http://www.gb.mapometer.com/cycling/route_2563222.html This ride is perfect for anyone who is confident riding on the road and wants to do a sociable bike ride with other women with an emphasis on fun not fitness.  We really welcome newcomers to our rides.   It’s a good idea to bring some water and you may also want to bring a snack if you think your energy levels may need topping up along the way.  Wearing a helmet is advisable, though not essential. Please bring some money if you want to stop for a drink/lunch in the pub afterwards. We plan to ride at approximately 8-10 miles per hour. 

Down some beautiful country lanes, there may be some mud on the road, farm animals, tractors and wildlife to spot.

We will always ride at the pace of the slowest rider so no one is left behind.
