I love this ride & have led it as a Skyride a few times. Bring your children, we can adapt as necessary but keep in mind that it is 8 miles and there are some hills, some of which is off road & downhill so can be a bit technical. There's always the option to push though. We get to ride through the tunnels under the runways as well which is best done fast. We'll stop at the viewing area for a cup of tea & to check out the planes taking off and landing. If you’re fairly confident on your bike and ready to broaden your cycling horizons, our Steady rides are ideal. At a comfortable pace, and possibly with some modest hills along the way, rides take place on mainly quiet roads with plenty of sights along the way. Rides are between 6 and 20 miles long, at a moderate pace of between 7 and 10 miles an hour. A ride with a difference, skirting the perimeter of Manchester Airport on eight miles of quiet lanes, cycle paths and off-road trails. From the gentle rolling cycleway, you'll be able to watch the arrivals and departures at one of the UK's busiest airports, while the airport's viewing park and the tourist hotspot of Quarry Bank Mill provide the stopping points of interest. Due to the mixed nature of the route's surfaces, road bikes with narrow tyres are not advised.
