The Big Breeze Rides celebrate Bike Week aiming to get women across the country out on a ride to celebrate the fantastic achievements of the Breeze Network. Taking the National Cycle Network route 72 to Tynemouth gives great views of many stunning historic sites - Segedunum, The Docks, Tynemouth Priory and the coastline. We'll stop stop for a cuppa somewhere lovely before crossing on the Shields Ferry heading back on the south bank of the Tyne. The Millennium Bridge takes us back over the water to The Cycle Hub. Further delicious refreshments are available here if you wish to stop awhile after the ride. Breeze ladies get a 10% discount on food and drink after a ride. The ride will aim for an average pace of 10 miles per hour, a little bit quicker than some of the shorter Breeze rides. There are no big hills on this route but are plenty of short inclines which will require confident use of gears. If you are not sure if this ride is at a suitable for you or for more information please drop an email to [email protected] You need to bring a spare inner tube for your bike and a puncture repair kit. Please bring a drink and a snack if you might need one. The weather can change quickly by the river/coast so please bring suitable clothing and sun lotion if needed. Please bring £1.50 for the Shields Ferry ticket and change for refreshments. We look forward to seeing you :) Please meet at 8.15 for a prompt 8.30 departure.
