Big Breeze Bike Ride - Basingstoke: Hatch Warren to Oakley

This is a steady ride, 70% on cycle paths, social, and it will not be a race and we go at the pace of the last rider!  The route will follow the cycle path to Beggarwood Park and follow the marked cycle routes through Kempshott towards Pack Lane, and the link with the new Oakley to Basingstoke off road path, opened in December 2011, then a little loop on road in Oakley and back the way we came to Portsmouth Arms. https://www.goskyride.com/SCG/ViewRouteBlank?routeID=8321 If you're not sure of the distance think you might struggle or don't want to try roads yet then so long as it is a nice day you can always stop at the end of the cycle path coming into Oakley, have a sit down and wait for us to come back from the Oakley Loop 15 mins later! This takes a few miles off the route and will  give you a break. The route can be shortened or extended slightly depending on the pace and feedback of the group. The cycle paths are quite gravelly in places and a little 'unmade paths (aka some mud covering if wet) so more suited to mountain bikes and hybrids would be fine but not really road bikes though you can give it a go so long as you are aware of the bumps, potential mud and punctures!
