Big Breeze Bike Ride - Allwheeley Ride

Come and join us for a lovely ride around Woodhouse Ridge and Alwoodley Cycle Route. The ride starts at the Waitrose's car park with a quick safety check and pre-ride exercise. From the car park we are going to cycle via quiet road at the back of Meanwood Park through to Woodhouse Ridge. After couple of miles the Woodhouse Ridge path will join Alwoodley Cycle Route which will take us back to Meanwood. There are two steep hills, which we are probably going to walk, unless you choose to cycle it. The rest of the route is fairly flat. This is very relaxing ride with a nice scenery. The wide, quiet paths will give a lot of opportunities for chatting with other participants. We will ride at the speed of the slowest rider, with plenty of breaks. Towards the end of the route we will visit Meanwood Valley Urban Farm' cafe for tea and cake, so please bring some money with you. We will finish the ride at Waitrose car park. The route is about 5 miles long, which should take about an hour to cycle. However please allow at least 90 mins for the event as there will be safety checks at the beginning and optional trip to the cafe towards the end of the ride.  Newcomers to Breeze rides are very welcome.  It's a good idea to bring some water and you may also want to bring a snack. Dress appropriately for the weather: in cold weather it's good to wear lots of thin layers, so you can add/remove them as needed; a pair of warm gloves and warm socks may also be useful. Wearing a helmet is advisable; if you don’t have one please do not to worry you can still take part.  If you enjoy the bike ride and would like to come again perhaps you could look to buy one then.
