Bicycles, Boats and Planes

Meet at Gamston Community Hall Car Park (free and no height barrier - I'm getting the hang of planning for drivers...) Head out of Gamston and up to the river via the new cycle highway on Regatta Way. Head into Holme Pierrepont and then down to Cotgrave Country Park along the old railway line. Join the Grantham Canal (I promise this section isn't full of nettles!) and head down to Chocks Away Cafe in Tollerton. A mile or so back to the car and it's right by Morrisons if you need to get any shopping in.

A trip out to see white water rafting and rowing up at Holme Pierrepont and planes and helicopters at Tollerton...Not guaranteed :)

Mostly off-road. A mixture of gravel paths, roads and Adbolton Lane (with its collection of potholes, it should rebrand itself as a BMX track). You could manage it on a road bike but bring an alternative if you have it.

We will have a break at Holme Pierrepont if there is anything exciting happening. Sometimes there's an ice cream man... Main stop at Chocks Away Cafe at Tollerton Airport where we can eat cake and hopefully watch planes and helicopters.

Please wear a helmet and bring anything you may need to fix a mechanical. We never leave anyone behind. Stronger riders are invited to spin faster to keep the same pace as the group. Under 16s must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. *This is a planned Teachers' Strike Day.
