Thank you for joining us for Ride London, one of the biggest cycling challenges in the country. If you want to get the most out of your big day, the hard work needs to start before you cross the start line. That's why we're thrilled to have teamed up with British Cycling to offer you this training ride. A rather challenging but rewarding ride through the North Kent 'Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty'. We will cycle through arcadian Kentish countryside and unspoilt villages. Highlights of the ride include: Downe Village and Down House, the home of Charles Darwin; Shoreham Village - nestling beside the River Darenth was the home of the painter Samuel Palmer and the most bombed village of WW2!; Castle Farm lavender fields winners of many Gold Medals with the Royal Horticultural Society ; Lullingstone Roman Villa and Castle; Eynsford Village - Kent Village of the Year 2006.
