Beginner's Greenham Common & Canal Side

Starting at the Control Tower Car Park at Greenham Common we will be doing a lap of the common and then descend to the Canal at Thatcham and continue along to Woolhampton where we can stop for refreshment before the return journey back along the Canal to Greenham Common.  The route is all traffic free and some parts may be muddy so road bikes will not be suitable.  Please remember to dress appropriate for the weather and to bring water and perhaps a snack to keep you going (although we can stop at the halfway point).  Please also remember to bring a spare inner tube just in case.  Approx 15 miles round trip. The ride will be at a relaxed pace so ideal for anybody who hasn't been out for a while and wants to get back in the saddle or equally for anybody who wants to come out on one of our rides for the first time. Wearing a helmet is advisable; if you don’t have one please do not to worry you can still take part.  If you enjoy the bike ride and would like to come again perhaps you could look to buy one then.  We really welcome newcomers to our rides; we will always ride at the pace of the slowest rider so no one is left behind.
