We start in the free car park behind the bus shelter, where the children's play park is, opposite the White Mare pub.

A lovely family ride from Beckermet to Seascale with an extension to join the Seascale to Ravenglass ride. We are combining the 2 rides for anyone who would like a longer ride. The long ride starts in Beckermet, which is 10 miles (round trip). The ride starts in the little tranquil village of Beckermet, there we will join the C2C route 72 cycle path, which brings us out at Sellafield, then we'll cycle along the sandy beach path to Seascale, which is a narrow single file path. The route is fairly flat with a few manageable hills. I recommend off road/hybrid tyre, although it can be done with an experienced road bike rider. When we reach Seascale we will have time for a small comfort break and then we'll join the other group and cycle to Ravenglass. I would recommend this ride to families that can manage the distance. We ride at the pace of the slowest rider and never leave anyone behind. The short ride will start in Seascale to Ravenglass Seascale to Ravenglass ride is 13 miles long (including return journey. Starting from Seascale car park we follow the Hadrian's Way national cycling route down to the pretty village of Ravenglass. At Ravenglass we will have a cafe stop and try to find a table at the Rosegarth which affords great views of the estuary. On the return journey, just as we make the final descent into Ravenglass we can stop for an ice cream. The journey is mainly on tarmac, but there is a stretch along the side of the estuary which will shake up any racing machine on narrow tyres. The journey from Seascale to Holmrook is rolling (it will give the legs a bit to do, although no massif climbs) but the second half of the trip to Ravenglass is nice and flat. link to sign onto the 2nd part of the route: Read more at https://www.goskyride.com/Search/Details?eventid=76985#fMXs
