This is one of my absolute favourite rides. Rolling hills, quiet roads (mostly), picturesque Cotswold villages & a village shop/garden cafe stop. What more could you ask for?
Please note that this ride is nearly 40 miles & has a few challenging hills along the way, so suitable for fitter/experienced riders only (although our pace will still be steady).
Starting at Bruern, we’ll head over to the Barringtons & across to pretty Sherborne. We’ll carry on up the hill to Farmington before turning down & up to Northleach (our final hill for now). From there it’s miles of quiet, fairly decent roads around gorgeous little villages without any big hills.
We’ll navigate our way through the Bibury tourists before heading out on to quiet roads again & a steady climb up to Coln St Aldwyns. Here we’ll have a good refreshments stop & soak up a few rays in the cafe garden (toilets & water refills available here).
After our break, we’ll head up to Hatherop - bit of a climb - then out toward Westwell & Burford. One cheeky little short sharp hill on the way! From Burford, it’s over to Swinbrook & up our final hill to Shipton, then around to Bruern. Hopefully another chance to sit in a lovely garden & drink coffee!
